Clatsop County Parks is inviting the public to provide input on proposed improvements to the boating facilities at Carnahan County Park during an Open House and Walk & Talk event scheduled for April 25.
The county said community participation will help shape the final design of upgrades aimed at making the park safer, more accessible, and enjoyable. The draft design concepts were developed with input from the Oregon State Marine Board.
“This is a chance for the community to see how their earlier feedback has been incorporated and to help us fine-tune improvements,” said Clatsop County Parks Supervisor Corey Johnson. “We’re focused on practical, small-scale upgrades that make the park safer, more accessible, and more enjoyable for everyone.”
The event will take place from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Pacific Grange Hall in Warrenton, where attendees can review draft plans, offer comments, attend a presentation about proposed changes, and join a guided walk at Carnahan County Park. There will also be a drawing for an annual parks pass and light refreshments provided.
“We’d love to hear from community members,” Johnson said. “Whether you live nearby, use the park regularly, or are part of a recreation group, come share your perspective.” Input collected will inform recommendations sent to both the Oregon State Marine Board and Clatsop County’s Recreation Lands Planning Advisory Committee.
Residents unable to attend in person are encouraged to participate through an online survey.
