Teens interested in forensic science will have the opportunity to participate in the 4th Annual CSI Forensic Science Day Camp, scheduled for June 22–26, 2026. The camp will take place at the Clatsop County Fairgrounds and is open to participants between the ages of 14 and 18.
The camp will run daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a lunch break from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. While snacks are provided, attendees are required to bring their own lunch.
During the weeklong event, students will engage in activities that mirror real-world forensic science practices. These include fingerprint analysis, DNA profiling, blood spatter examination, footprint casting, and mock crime scene investigations. Organizers describe it as an immersive experience designed for teens who are interested in science, law enforcement, or solving puzzles.
“Step into the world of forensic science! Would you like to be a crime scene investigator? At our CSI Forensic Science Day Camp, students will become crime scene investigators, using real-life forensic techniques to solve crimes,” according to organizers.
Applications must be submitted by May 30. Acceptance is on a first-come, first-served basis due to limited space. The registration fee is $50 and should be paid after application approval by the Medicolegal Death Investigator.
To register, applicants need to complete both a student registration form and a parent or guardian consent form. Completed forms can be sent by mail to Liz DeVisser at the Clatsop County Sheriff’s Office or emailed directly.
