Of the 147 people living in Deer Island in 2019, 53.1 percent (78) were women and 46.9 percent (69) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the North Coast Today.

Females 18 and over outnumbered males in the same age group by a ratio of 60-to-40. In the 65 and over age range, there were 18 females and 29 males.
