Face Coverings Optional for Spring Term

Oregon Coast Community College issued the following announcement on March 4

Meanwhile, from March 12 to 26, face coverings will only be required in credit classrooms and labs, as well as all health care programs. Face coverings will be optional in other on-campus settings.

As announced previously, Oregon Coast Community College is maintaining mandatory face coverings inside credit classrooms and labs through the end of the Winter term, March 26, 2022.

  • Students and employees will be free to choose whether to wear a face coverings elsewhere on campus, including in the commons, hallways, offices, restrooms, etc.
  • Nursing and allied health programs will follow health care masking protocols.
Face coverings will only be required in credit classrooms and labs, through the end of the Winter term (March 26, 2022).

    • Face coverings will be available at the building entrance and at each of the hand sanitizer stations, located throughout all buildings.
    • Ensure that you have your face covering on when you enter the classroom.
On Monday, March 28, and for Spring term, OCCC intends to:

    • continue providing complimentary face coverings at the entrance to all its buildings
    • maintain rigorous daily cleaning protocols
    • maintain a face covering optional policy throughout the term, barring a change in pandemic circumstances and new guidance or regulations from the relevant agencies
    • nursing & allied health programs will follow health care masking protocols until further notice
The college will continue to encourage face covering use for anyone who chooses to wear them.
