Preparing for the fall and return to school includes an important list of events for adolescents ages 12 – 21. Be sure their well-child and/or sports physical makes it to the top of that list to support their physical and emotional well-being. Adventist Health Tillamook is providing walk-in adolescent well-child checks and sports physicals with no out-of-pocket costs to patients in Tillamook County at our Tillamook, Manzanita and Pacific City medical office locations on the dates and times listed. Food and prize drawings will also be available at these events.
Well-child visits include checking for their physical, mental, developmental and emotional state using established screening methods to ensure they are ready for school sports activities. These screenings also allow for early identification and diagnosis of disability or delay, which may decrease the emotional and financial impacts of these disabilities or delays in the future. Additionally, this important checkup will help promote healthy habits into adulthood and provide intervention services if needed to address substance use, mental health and reproductive health.
