Camp Rilea was recognized today by the Clatsop County Board of Commissioners for their long record of support of county residents, businesses and visitors.
Commission Chair Mark Kujala presented a plaque to Henry Idica, Camp Rilea Training Site Manager.
“During the pandemic, the County’s relationship with Camp Rilea was crucial to facilitating a number of important activities pertaining to the Covid-19 outbreak. Their assistance during the pandemic is just one of the many times in the history of Camp Rilea that they have stepped up and provided help,” Kujala said.
Camp Rilea is in Warrenton and it is where Clatsop County’s Emergency Management Program and Emergency Operations Center are located. The EOC serves as the regional communications hub for disasters and emergencies.
Several training and outreach events have taken place at Camp Rilea that have helped people in the community learn about preparing for a natural disaster.
