Clatsop County is announcing the hiring of Kyle Sharpsteen as the new Clatsop County Fair Manager.
“We searched for that individual who brings the skills and experience to successfully manage events, maintain grounds, understand how government works and knows the importance of providing excellent customer service. Kyle Sharpsteen met those qualifications,” said Monica Steel, Clatsop County assistant county manager.
Sharpsteen graduated from Timberline High School in Olympia Washington in 2001. He and his wife moved to Clatsop County in 2006 and have two school-age children. He graduated from Clatsop Community College with a business degree, and brings a strong background in municipal government, public administration, public works and facility maintenance. He has worked for the city of Warrenton for the last 10 years, most recently as interim public works director.
“The Fairgrounds is a treasured community resource,” Sharpsteen said. “It brings our community together for family friendly activities and provides space for individuals to host special events that celebrate personal milestones. I look forward to stewarding the next chapter of the County Fair Grounds.”
“Personally, I’ve been to many Clatsop County Fairs and have enjoyed exploring every inch of the fair and seeing all the exhibits, animals and vendors. I understand the fair succeeds because of the many dedicated and vital volunteers who put in a tremendous amount of time putting on a family-friendly event that creates wonderful memories for attendees. I want to honor and build on this work,” he said.
