Asher Severson of the Astoria FFA Chapter won the Wildlife Production and Management proficiency at the 95th Oregon FFA Convention. Ashers Supervised Agricultural Experience was in gillnetting. Asher managed his own boat, participated in several salmon runs, and promoted the role of fisheries in the Clatsop County economy.
Agricultural Proficiency Awards honor FFA members who, through supervised agricultural experiences (SAEs), have developed specialized skills that they can apply toward their future careers. Proficiency awards are also recognized at local and state levels and provide recognition to members exploring and becoming established in agricultural career pathways.
